Otunba Solomon K Onafowokan.
ChairmanOtunba Solomon K. Onafowokan is the Chairman of Eskay Petroleum Company Limited, one of the nation’s largest independent oil and gas marketing companies. Eskay reported average daily sales figure of 15,000 litres of oil equivalent in 2002.
Following a 35-year career with Chellarams Plc (a company quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange) that included both domestic and foreign assignments, Otunba Onafowokan founded Eskay Petroleum Company Limited in 1982 as Chairman, Chief Executive Officer. In January of 1999, Otunba Onafowokan transitioned to a full-time position of Chairman of the Board.
Otunba Solomon K. Onafowokan is a member of the Board of Directors and the Policy and Executive Committees of the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industries, currently serving as Vice President. He also is a member of the NACCIMA and Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association and a distinguished member of the Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria.
Otunba Onafowokan is a native of Sagamu, Ogun State, and holds the highest chieftaincy title of the land as the Asiwaju of Remo Kingdom a title last held by the late elder statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo OFR.
ABIMBOLA K ONAFOWOKAN
Chief Executive OfficerAbimbola K. Onafowokan is Chief Executive Officer for Eskay Petroleum Company Limited. Mr. Onafowokan began his career with Eskay in 1994 as Executive Director – Operations after an engineering career with Power Systems Nigeria Limited, Eskay’s associate company as its Project Engineer. He has held positions of increasing responsibility during the past 9 years. In 1997, Mr. Onafowokan was appointed Secretary General for Independent Petroleum Marketers’ Association of Nigeria, a post he was re-elected in year 2000 based on the outstanding performance of his first tenure.
Mr. Onafowokan is a graduate of the University of Lagos and earned a Masters degree (Engineering) from the University of Liverpool, UK, in 1992. He his also completing a Masters degree in Business Administration at the University of Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria.
He is an active member of several professional and civic organizations, including the Nigerian Society of Engineers, the Institute of Directors, Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Nigerian Petroleum Institute. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors for Coleman Technical Industries and Sere Close/Ibefun Lane Residents’ Association.
DAVID OLUYOMI K ONAFOWOKAN
Executive Director, OperationsDavid is the Executive Director in charge of Operations at Eskay Petroleum Company Limited. Following a series of noteworthy roles for the company, he became Executive Director in 2005. David's expertise and experience has already driven and enhanced the company's position in this sector. As an independent petroleum products trader, he has focused on the West African and International oil trading markets for petroleum products, risk management strategies, the organization of trading companies and the development of indigenous trading entities in Nigeria.
David is a graduate of the University of the West of England, Bristol. He later earned his Masters Degree at the University of Houston, Texas.
David is an active member of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN). He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Petroleum Downstream Group at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is on the board of directors of Power Systems Nigeria Limited and Coleman Technical Industries Limited.
VICTORIA OBADINA
Executive Director, AdministrationVictoria Obadina is the Executive Director and Controller for Eskay Petroleum Company Limited. Mrs. Obadina joined Eskay as an Associate Accountant in 1978 and was promoted to Assistant Controller in 1995. She was named to her current position in August 2002.
Mrs. Obadina earned her Higher Diploma of business administration degree from John Moore University, Liverpool, UK, in 1985 and a master of business administration degree from the University of Houston in 1989.
She is active in a number of professional organizations including the Nigerian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Directors of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Insurance Brokers Association. She is on the Board of Directors of Hopkins & Mentor Limited and Insurance brokerage firm.
